Entronn Video Player Privacy Policy
Effective Date: September 15, 2026
Entronn Video Player ("Entronn Player", "the Player", "we", "us", or "our") is a WordPress video player developed and provided by Entronn. It supports HLS and MP4 video playback, subtitles, advertisements, playback controls, and related video player functionality.
This Privacy Policy explains how information may be processed when Entronn Video Player is installed on a WordPress website or when you visit a website that uses Entronn Video Player.
By using or interacting with a website that uses Entronn Video Player, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
1. About Entronn Video Player
Entronn Video Player is a WordPress plugin that allows website owners to display videos using a modern video player.
The plugin can display HLS (.m3u8) and MP4 videos and may provide features such as:
- Adaptive HLS streaming
- MP4 playback
- Playback position and resume functionality
- Subtitles and captions
- Video posters and thumbnails
- Pre-roll, mid-roll, and post-roll advertisements
- Sponsor links
- Playback controls and keyboard shortcuts
- Video and advertising analytics where enabled
- Protected or signed video URLs where supported
The video files themselves are not hosted by the Entronn Video Player WordPress plugin. Website owners may host their videos on their own server, CDN, object storage, or another publicly accessible video URL.
2. Information Processed When You Watch a Video
Entronn Video Player is designed so that it does not intentionally collect personal information from viewers through the WordPress plugin.
However, when a website uses the Entronn Player service, your browser may make a request to the Entronn player-rendering service to load the player interface.
As part of a normal web request, the service provider's server may receive standard technical information such as:
- IP address
- Browser type and version
- Device and operating system information
- Date and time of the request
- Requested resource
- Referring page or website
- Basic server and security information
This information may be recorded in standard server logs for purposes such as operating the service, maintaining security, preventing abuse, diagnosing technical problems, and maintaining service reliability.
The WordPress plugin's documentation states that no visitor personal data is deliberately collected by the plugin, while acknowledging that the player service's server logs may record standard connection metadata such as an IP address.
3. Information Sent to the Player Service
When a website visitor loads an Entronn Video Player, the browser requests the player interface from the Entronn player service.
Depending on how the website owner has configured the player, the request may include information necessary to display and operate the player, such as:
- Video URL
- HLS playlist URL
- MP4 video URL
- Poster or thumbnail URL
- Subtitle or caption URL
- Advertisement video URLs
- Sponsor link
- Player appearance settings, such as accent or gradient colors
- Other player configuration parameters
These URLs and settings are provided so that the player can determine what content to display and how the player should operate.
The video, poster, and subtitle files are generally requested directly by the visitor's browser from the location where the website owner hosts those files. They are not normally proxied through the Entronn player-rendering service.
4. Video Content and Hosting
Entronn Video Player does not provide general-purpose video hosting.
Website owners are responsible for the videos and other media they configure in the Player.
Videos may be hosted on:
- The website's own server
- A content delivery network (CDN)
- Amazon S3 or similar object storage
- Cloudflare R2 or similar storage
- Another publicly accessible video server
Because the video files may be hosted by third parties, requests for those files may be processed by the hosting provider or CDN according to its own privacy policy.
Entronn is not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party video hosting providers selected by a website owner.
5. Playback Position and Local Storage
Entronn Video Player may use browser localStorage to remember
the playback position of a video.
This allows a visitor to return to a video and continue watching from approximately where they previously stopped.
Playback position information stored using localStorage remains
within the visitor's browser and is not, by itself, a submission of personal
information to Entronn.
Visitors can generally clear this information through their browser's site-data or storage settings.
6. Cookies and Similar Technologies
Entronn Video Player does not require cookies to provide its basic video playback functionality.
Some functionality may use browser storage or similar technologies, including local storage for playback position.
The website where Entronn Video Player is embedded may separately use cookies, pixels, analytics tools, advertising technologies, or other tracking technologies.
Those technologies are controlled by the website owner and/or the relevant third-party service provider and are governed by their respective privacy policies.
7. Advertising
Entronn Video Player may allow website owners to display pre-roll, mid-roll, and post-roll advertisements.
Website owners may configure advertisements using direct video URLs or VAST-compatible advertising services.
When advertisements are served by a third-party advertising provider, that provider may independently collect information about the visitor or interaction with an advertisement, depending on its technology and configuration.
Such information may include technical information, advertising identifiers, interaction information, or other information described in the advertising provider's privacy policy.
Entronn does not control the privacy practices of third-party advertising networks or ad servers selected by website owners.
We recommend reviewing the privacy policy of the applicable advertising provider when third-party advertising technology is used.
8. Analytics
Certain versions or configurations of Entronn Video Player may provide video and advertising analytics to the website owner.
Depending on the features enabled, analytics may include information such as:
- Video plays
- Watch time
- Completion rate
- Playback progress
- Viewer drop-off points
- Advertisement impressions
- Advertisement interactions or clicks
Analytics functionality, where enabled, is intended to help the website owner understand how their video content and advertisements perform.
Website owners are responsible for ensuring that any analytics functionality they enable complies with applicable privacy and data-protection laws and their own privacy policy.
9. Signed Video URLs and Security
Certain Entronn Player configurations may use signed URLs to protect video content.
Signed URLs may contain security-related information and may expire after a limited period. These security mechanisms are intended to prevent unauthorized reuse of video URLs and do not exist for the purpose of identifying individual viewers.
10. Third-Party Services
Entronn Video Player may interact with third-party services depending on how a website owner configures the Player.
These may include:
- Video hosting providers
- CDN providers
- Object-storage providers
- Advertising networks or VAST-compatible ad servers
- Sponsor websites
- Security and infrastructure providers
The Entronn Player itself does not determine which external video hosting or advertising services a website owner chooses.
Each third-party service may collect and process information according to its own privacy policy.
You should review the privacy policy of the website you are visiting and any relevant third-party service when appropriate.
11. Website Owner Responsibilities
Entronn Video Player is a tool provided to WordPress website owners.
